I'm getting a new tractor, what is a good box blade set up I should get? Mahindra3550

I'd like to get it at the same time. I'd like the aux hydrollic teeth that come down. Also what do they generally run in price.

This is a 50hp tractor, compact. Commercial use primarily for my small construction company.

Heavy is a good thing, I think ball park 1 foot per 5HP so maybe an 8 footer? Missed the part about aux hdy teeth not sure about price but it will add many $$$$$ to purchase. Good luck.:thumbsup:

Oh wow, I'll have to save up for that land pride!! Maybe I'll use my 1980 Sunshine by Modern for a while longer. Can flip the teeth by hand.

I personally would be looking at something in the 1,000lb+ range and betwee 78"-84" wide. Keep an eye out for used ones, they are out ther and usually about 1/2 the cost of new. :thumbsup: If you are going to be doing much grading, you might want to think about getting a Top & Tilt set for your 3pt hitch. Makes all the difference in the world when it comes to grading. With the high cost of the optional 2nd OEM rear remote and on top of that it sounds like you might very well need 3, I would be thinking about going with a double diverter valve setup using the single OEM remote for the control valve.

I just finished up installing a triple diverter valve setup on my Mahindra 3215 so that now I have 4 rear remotes. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: The 3215 only had 1 rear remote as an option. (doesn't come with any ) This makes for a VERY CLEAN installation IMO. Here are a few pics.

I have been trying to figure out how to do rear remotes on mine, so I have a question... do you have an issue with the electric solenoids since you can't easily control speed with them. The way I would do it is to use my rear power beyond so they would need to be open centered and I don't want to restrict flow through them, so a flow control for the entire bank is our of the question and I don't want to have 6 or 8 flow control valves. Maybe it isn't that big of a deal just to use full flow, but I think especially with a hydraulic top link it would be an issue.

Mine are just diverter valves, the flow rate is controlled by the single OEM control valve. Everything is controlled with the single OEM remote valve, the diverters just control which hydraulic gets the fluid.

It sounds like you want to use a bank of true 3rd function valves, no problem. To control the flow amount it is best to just use the correct size flow restrictor for the different dia sizes of your different cylinders. For an example, the top link for your tractor would use a 30 thousandths restrictor. That will allow the flow to the top link to be easy to control. The restrictor fitting takes up about 1 1/4" in length and I install them between the male QD end and the hose end.
