Liberty Flail Mowers - Anyone with any experience with one?
Hi,
Does anyone have, or know anyone with a Liberty Flail mower? If so, what has been your/their experience with them?
I've been looking at flail mowers and I checked out the Liberty Implements web site.
Models - High Quality Flail Mowers & Implements
They look like a well made piece of equipment. They are manufactured in Mesa, Arizona, or that's the location on the web site. I emailed them some questions and a salesman called me back. He made me a pretty fair deal over the phone.
I was looking at the 6 ft. ranch model ($2499), this comes with the grass cutting Y blades. He said he would sell me the 6 ft. Pro model ($2999), this comes with the hammer blades at the ranch model price, throw in a set of Y blades, knock off $200 and that includes shipping. Now they aren't giving these mowers away, but that didn't sound like too bad of a deal to me. He knocked off $700 with a phone call. When something sounds too good to be true, I usually get a little cautious. I told the salesman that I just had questions today and wasn't ready to pull the trigger yet. He said that was fine and he would email me the offer and if and when I decided to get the mower he would honor what he told me today.
I don't like to buy a piece of equipment that I've never seen before, so I thought I would ask the forum memebers for their experience and opinions on the Liberty flail mowers and Liberty Implements.
Thanks in advance!
Rick

Per a conversation I just had with their chat support people:
Sounds like they claim to go through them before they go out, so it could be a decent machine if it uses standard parts to allow for things like bearing replacement from someone other than the manufacturer. The mower is made in China, we distribute in Arizona. We designed them, and they use american fittings. You are buying direct from the manufacturerer.

I have no personal experience with Liberty. Before you buy ... read some of the posts here on TBN about the buying experiences other members have had with Liberty. It sounds to me like they may charge your credit card the day you place your order and use your cash to order the item from China. Some members have reported long delays delays before goods ordered were received.

Re: Liberty Flail Mowers - Anyone with any experience with one?
Thanks for your replies.
After I posted my question about Liberty on here, the salesman emailed me a copy of the owners manual. I started reading the manual and noticed there were quite a few simple spelling errors and weird grammar. When I saw that I felt pretty sure that the mowers come from someplace else, but the weird grammar made me think of China. Thanks for confirming that aczlan.
The salesman told me several times that they were the manufacturer, but didn't admit that they were actually built somewhere else. I don't have a problem with Chinese made equipment ( heck my tractor is made in Japan and then assembled here, as are many other compact tractors) as long as the quality of material and workmanship is there. I would rather it be made here in the good ol' USA, but that's not the way things are today. I've seen some very well made Chinese equipment and I've seen some junk as well. I'm sure you guys have too.
I'm going to search for "Liberty Implements" posts tonight and see what turns up.
Kneedeep, I have purchased equipment from Everything Attachments and what I have bought was a good quality piece of equipment made in the USA. But, they do have a few Chinese made items as well. They are upfront about and don't try to hide it. I am guessing what Chinese equipment they carry is of good quality.
Thanks again for your replies.

Hello Rick,
As you are new member with one thread/post
you do not have private message priviledges yet.
It all depends on your wallet; if you cannot afford to
purchase a good flail mower do not pursue it!
I would strongly suggest you look at the flail mower posts
and threads on the board long before you make decision about buying
from them.
I would look at the used flail mowers on tractorhouse as they will be better purchase
and they are american made and will be within your price range plusa or minus a few
hundred dollars.

Re: Liberty Flail Mowers - Anyone with any experience with one?
We appreciate the business Rick. All of our ETA attachments are made here in our factory with the finest US steel and the highest quality components that we can obtain. Unfortunately, there isn't a US source for every component needed to make certain attachments and I can assure you that china is always the very last resort of obtaining those necessary components. We are also currently making several of the smaller components in house that every other manufacturer out there would simply buy from china.
