New Grapple exceeds expectations

While being worried about weight can be a issue, whith the bigger tractors like KY's it really is not a big thing. His is rated at 2700 but that is at full lift, it is more in the 3k to 3500 at the ground I would bet. At least I Know it is with mine. The only time I have any issue is with big stumps. I am happy with the 48" one that I have for digging out trees, it puts less stress on the loader arms. Dug out a 24" maple the other day, worked pretty good. CJ

I can see where sometimes a smaller grapple could come in handy. Especially concentrating more force into a smaller area.

That is a nice width grapple for brush and debris and general purpose. The 800lb weight is not an issue at all when handling brush on that tractor. I like how long the lower tines are, very nice for digging out brush roots. The only possible issue could be on heavy roots but that is where another style/size might work well.

I just received my new Anbo GRS 72 Grapple last Thursday and took it to the farm to clean up some trees to make bush hogging a little easier. I must say it's built like a tank. Ran into a solid rock that practically stalled my L45. I got off real quick expecting to see several bent tines and to my amazement there was hardly a scratch. Moved a lot of downed trees, uprooted several and even found a new use trimming some pine trees that had grown close together making it impossible to mow between. I have been looking at grapples for a bit. Following your thread it seems like you have a really nice one. I talked to an individual at ANRO today and he told me that he recommended the same one you got which is what I had previously decided was the correct size but wanted independent input from the folks that build them. (The guy actually grew up very close to where I am at and knows the local dealers from when he lived here.)

My question to you is: What other grapples did you look at and what was your decision process that got you to the model that you bought? There are obviously less expensive grapples available but you decided that it was worth the money to get the GR-S. Why?
