Danuser PHD - tried for 1st time today!
I bought a used Danuser PHD at an auction in September and have been fixing it up for the last few months. The customer service at Danuser has been EXCELLENT. They sent me all the manuals and have a kit to upgrade the seals, gearing, and drive shaft.
Installed all the new parts, greased it up, and gave it a new paint job.
Tried it out on my farm with rocky, clay soil and the thing is a beast. Dug two holes in no time with no problem. I was thinking of selling it to make a profit but I think its a keeper now.
Any ideas on how to store a PTO PHD? Danuser makes a cart but it is around $600 with shipping.

Looks great, are you wanting to store it inside or out? I am posting a pic of my PHD on it's parking spot. Cost all of $20.

Congratulations. Well done. Now you have a reliable PHD when the need arises.

Great looking...looks just like mine...except mine isn't so purty...wanna fix mine up??
I just dig it into the ground and unhook it....not elegant, but works until ground gets real soft, then falls over.

Thanks for all the ideas!
I think I will build the one I saw in the thread from LouieJunior where it is the vertical free standing platform. I will be storing the PHD inside and will add some HD casters so I can CAREFULLY roll it around if needed.Tom

Looks good, those F8 Danusers are the best PTO diggers made. They cost about $2500-3000 new, so used ones go quick.

Be sure to send a picture, when complete.
I use mine infrequently, so I am considering hanging it with a few chains -- and the ability to winch it up out of the way.
