Re: FEL mounted snow blade
Don't have a B,but have plowed with a four ft.on an ATV,a six ft. on a L3130 and a eight ft. on a L4240.Mounted way out on the bucket.....I think a 60" would be all you want.Just keep your banks pushed back.

Re: FEL mounted snow blade
6' does sound like a but much for that small (light) of a machine. But I dont have much experience with that sized tractor.
As far as 23HP being enough. Absolutely it is. HP is not the issue. Traction IS. Ad the heavier you are, the better. (as well as snow chains). And you can always add more weight if you need.
That said, I wouldnt be afraid of running the 6' on that machine. Cause you can always take a smaller bite with a larger than needed blade. But you can never take a bigger bite with a smaller blade. And even so, with where you live, I am sure you will see snowfalls that would even give a 4' blade on your machine fits. You just have to learn how to operate things. But the 6' would sure be nice for those lite dustings of powder.
Re: FEL mounted snow blade
I used a 6 foot plow with a Kubota B2410 (24 hp). It was a Kubota plow mounted close in on a subframe. Pushing downhill or flat should be no problem even with wet snow. LD1 is correct - traction will be the limiting factor especially going uphill. I had tire chains, loaded R4 rear tires and 500+ lbs rear ballast and i would run out of traction trying to push up hill in a wet snow.
Re: FEL mounted snow blade
I think a 60" plow would be all you would want. You want a plow that will clear your tire tracks. If you go to wide the plow will handle the tractor instead of the tractor handling the plow. I don't know if you would benefit from a wider plow doing a driveway unless your driveway is wide.
Re: FEL mounted snow blade
Thanks everyone for the input. it is a wide driveway, i believe my current blade is 7' so i'm a little nervous about losing 2' but i do need to make two passes up hill and to rake uphill is very slow with a 48" rake and must be done in low . so I'm assuming plowing wet snow won't be much different.
Re: FEL mounted snow blade
yeah , I wish they had free trial periods like DR equip. I'll probably go with the 60" thanks
Re: FEL mounted snow blade
I like the pics!! I'm connecting a western plow to my front auxiliary hydraulics. Besides adapting the lines did u need a diverted or solenoid to run the power angle... Because I see you have them connect to the front ports like I want to do. Thanks!
