I've had poor germination on planting pasture grass - I typically disc/till, broadcast and lightly chain harrow. I am thinking that I need better ground-seed contact, which means a seeder, cultipacker or similar roller. I've been scanning the used equipment sources in my area for a couple of years but have struck out. Ken Sweet's used units look great but I suspect the freight/customs put the price up quite a bit. I haven't found any rental options either.
What I have found is the Land Pride Seed Bed Roller. I am considering the 72" version which has 11 3/8" rollers and weighs in at 442 pounds.
Any experience with the Land Pride units? Does 74 lbs/ft seem heavy enough?
