Re: Another Harbor Freight quick hitch success story
there's nothing wrong dragging a tree like you do, the front of the tree is raise so hitting a rock is impossible...and i guess you arent dragging it at 100mph...
i used to only drag them with my ATV and really fast... never had a problem..

Re: Another Harbor Freight quick hitch success story
I saw that you have the adapter on it. Did HF still have those in stock? I'm wanting to buy a qh but can't find the adapter

Re: Another Harbor Freight quick hitch success story
Ordered from HF customer service. Call their 800 line, tell them you need the adapter for the quick hitch. Give them the Quick Hitch part number, and they'll be able to tell you the part number for the adapter and take your order.

Re: Another Harbor Freight quick hitch success story
I have the same quick hitch and have just gone to using the adapter. The top hook was too close to the frame to grab some of my attachments. Yup, had to order the adapter on the phone. Got it fairly quick and for a good price. I had to have it anyway for my rear finish mower. Now, that is where my biggest problem comes in. The quick hitch sits down on the PTO shaft guard when I am mowing. I try adjusting it so it stops beforehand, but I think I need a height stop to keep it above the shaft when I drop it. Anyone know of a decent way to do that? I was thinking of some sort of "bar" on the tractors draw bar. Just wondering if anyone has ever "been there, done that". Any ideas or techniques would be appreciated.
One thing you can do with the tongs is run a safety chain from them to the tractor draw bar. Make sure it is short enough to pull that direction if something hangs the log, and not put a bunch of downward force on the top hook to flip your tractor. You want to do this so you can use the tongs to lift, pull, and drop the logs without having to get on and off the tractor and chain up/unchain your logs every time. Of course, it may be better to use the choke chain as your short link to the draw bar after you lift the log with the tongs. You just need to be safe and not climb around under the log while you have it lifted.

Re: Another Harbor Freight quick hitch success story
I am happy with my quick hitch I had to make a few modifications to get it to work properly. Here is my thread.
Would you mind sharing the dimensions of the toplink adapter?

Re: Another Harbor Freight quick hitch success story
I have a question for you guys. My wife bought me HF quick hitch and I am having problems, it appears the hooks where the pins from my rototiller and brush hog sit in are too wide and I was wondering if I could cut them down some to make it work I like the ability to just back up and hook up and go but I cant do that presently :-(

Re: Another Harbor Freight quick hitch success story
Could you turn the pins inward to make the spacing more narrow like on this implement?
