That snow sure looks like fun! Thanks Travis and Island Tractor for the input on my lower "sieve" idea, and also the possible land rake option, although perhaps that might collect too much of the smaller mulched debris...

Not a huge problem as wood rots fast down here and a 6' Mahindra medium duty cutter can probably handle most of the stuff that falls through anyways, or I'll just leave the grapple on with an add on screen for the first few mowings so that I can make additional small burn piles as needed. The plan is coming together.

Stay safe all!

I hope you start a thread on adding a screen to your grapple, whether it works as well as expected or not.

In my hands, I'd worry about forgetting it's on there and then start pushing bigger stuff around. (It's bad enough with storing tools in the bucket.)

Placed order today for an EA 60" single lid, 3rd function kit, and the hose spring protector. EA is busy on the phones, but Travis handled everything in just a few minutes with confirmation email arriving in my inbox as I hung up the phone. If you are on the fence, remember that today would be the last day to get your section 179 equipment and machinery itemization documented for 2015. Happy New Year to all, and stay safe!

Congrats on your 1,000th post on this thread.

Brad in Colorado shared some words and a few beautiful pics of his 55" Wicked Utility Grapple installed on a Kubota MX5800.

"This tool is quickly becoming my most used and favorite of all my attachments. Having lots of brush and debris piles on the new farm to deal with, this tool is perfect.
Well built and heavy duty, I can see this unit lasting generations. Thanks again."

Today was a good day. Finally able to bring home the new addition. This is a 60" Single Lid Wicked Grapple Single Lid Root Grapple on a Mahindra 2538 http://mahindrausa.com/sites/default/files/tractor/pdf/22749 MAH542538 071015.pdf - It is exactly what I was looking for and although I have not worked it hard yet, it has done exactly what I needed it to on its first day. :D

Perfectly cradles and carries factory bucket around in case of need to move dirt.

Very useful for unloading HD Box Blade without getting off to hook up chains. Notice the leverage of the heavy blade, but light weight grapple helped tractor breathe easy during move.

Sturdy and well built unit - perfect alignment of top lid and bottom tines
Front Grapple EA smaller.jpg

Third function kit from EA, (WR Long Unit with EA specialty fittings seamlessly mated to grapple and worked flawlessly)
Note the position of rocker switch on loader controller which is perfectly placed for index or middle finger activation

I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces. Thanks Ted and Travis and everyone else at EA!

No doubt - It's been a little cold and wet down here and I wish it would warm up just a bit. This transplant Canadian has lost his tolerance for 40 degree temps let alone the minus 40 I used to enjoy snowmobiling in growing up on the Alaska Highway! :cold: Definitely great burning weather though, so I should just take a week off or so and head out for some tractor therapy.
