Just bought a Stanley Pole Tamper. Planning to do some pasture fence work. This tamper takes 4-9 GPM with optimum being 8 GPM. I plan to use this on a Kubota M5400 which is 11.6 GPM. Would there be a problem is using a tractor with more GPM than the tool needs. Don't want to blow seals.
Thanks

Just keep your engine rpm's down and you should be fine.

Interesting, I never knew there was such a thing. I agree that you just need to keep your RPMs own and it will work fine.

Fence pros, would a pole tamper work for back filling 4x6 four board horse fence posts? I'm wanting to get by without setting in concrete for speed and cost considerations.

How does has this tamper worked out for you? I have a Kioti CK35 rated @ 12.7 GPM, wondering if I would need a flow meter/control valve? Looks like current part is = TA54603A. Frosty

As Gabby mentioned just lower the rpm's to control the hydraulic flow. Recognize that a hydraulic gear pump has a specific flow per revolution, if you lower the speed you lower the flow rate. It is better in the sense you don't have to rev the engine up to rated speed just to tamp a post.

FWIW, North Georgia hasn't posted on the forum in almost 1 1/2 years. You might try a pm or email if you want a better chance for a response.
