What about a cycle bar mower?

I second the sickle bar mower idea. Hopefully you can find a 9 foot model to speed up your work. I have a 7 foot sickle mower and it seems to use 50% of the gasoline as my 6 foot bush hog acre for acre.

I suggest you attach a cup holder and a large cooler. My estimate is about 15 hours of cutting with your 60" cutter. (About 60 linear miles of driving) BTW, I have done this a few times myself.

so you want to keep weeds down while the animals graze the good stuff down?

if so go out and get a tow behind 8 or 10' brush hog. if your not cutting thick stuff and you keep it high (6-8") then you should be able to power it fine.

You can make skids for a cycle mower to hold it off the ground just for mowing pasture. Are you just mowing the stems of grass or mostly weeds?
