Did i get your attention? Ha!
OK, i am looking for opinions. I have a BH 76 backhoe which I purchased for use on a B3200. It's a great little hoe and for digging small drainage ditches and putting in water line, I think it's the perfect size. Plus it's paid for. But I have a dilemma.
The time came and I needed a bigger tractor. The little B machine has been replaced with an M7040. So, I now have a subframe backhoe that I need to mount on the M tractor. I dont think designing and fabricating a subframe is in the cards. So I have decided to either attach a skidsteer plate to it and run it off the front of my tractor, or turn it into a 3 pt attachment.

What do you guys think?

Yes I could sell it, but I'm set on keeping it. I have a yanmar excavator for big projects. The little BH is really handy for small projects. I just wonder what it would be like mounted on the front of my tractor?

If you have the subframe from the last tractor, and a FEL with a frame under the new tractor it shouldn't be that hard to adapt the frame to your new tractor, and attach it to the loader frame an axle. Maybe the dealer would even take a trade in of the old frame twords a new one to fit your tractor. Do you have the proper hydraulic continues pressure on the new tractor I assume you ordered it this way.

Let me ask this a little bit different. I think my original post was confusing.

What are the pros vs. cons in adapting a small backhoe to a skidsteer plate to mount on an FEL vs. making into a 3 point mount and attach on the rear.
Fabrication wise it's about the same amount of work.
Opinions?

Not being familiar with the backhoe attachment but assuming it is a small hoe about 7 1/2' model you can do it either way. I say that since the tractor and loader are quite a bit larger than would be associated with this size hoe.

If you mount it on the loader you could use it to clean out the gutters.

Yes, it's a 7 1/2 ft. Much too small for my tractor, but very handy size none the less.
