JD RX75 transmission ?'s
Hello everyone, after lots of searching, I finally found the garden tractor of my dreams. It's a John deere RX75. Everything seems to be ok except for the starting solenoid (thats what I think it is, it clicks or cranks slowly on a full battery). But I'm concerned with the transmission (only because a new one is $800 : ), I want to know where the dipstick/ level check is, I've jacked it up and cant really see anything. Any help is greatly appreciated.
-God bless

Re: JD RX75 transmission ?'s
Those transaxles are a sealed unit .There is no way of checking them . They are packed with grease when built . If it is working okay , don't be too concerned . They do need to have drive belts that are in good shape . It is basically a forward / reverse trans. with a variator system for gears 2-7 . Tou should try and find a service manual for it . Hope this helps .

Re: JD RX75 transmission ?'s
Thanks for your response, I'm sure glad that the transaxle is one less thing that I need to worry about on the 30+ year old tractor
