I have an older 3 point 4 section spike harrow that I converted to a pull type. Only problem is the pipe is bent, the flip up points are worn severely and in general it plugs with debris when pulled because of the 3 point arrangement. Does anyone have a good picture of the cables and tow bar used on a pull type harrow?? I want to redo it by making a tow bar with pivot ends. I would sure appreciate any good pictures of a harrow of this arrangement.

Don posted some good pics and site for harrows. I think the important thing to consider when using a 3ph setup is to make sure your linkage or towing point is close to the ground so that you get a level straight line pull.

When i first built this three point harrow i had planned to use a chain on the rear to allow it to flex. i quick saw the error of having the hitch point too high as the back would rise up. i then added the sitffeners and let it float along with the tractor, in most cases that works pretty well. If you look at the hitch closely you can see where i welded the hitch point ridge where i initially had it bolted and hinged. Live and learn i guess.:ashamed:

For $2-300 you could just buy a 50-60ft pull type set on an auction . Cut the wings off and run it as 3 section and use the leftovers as parts ..

The ones posted by Don are very helpful, but I sure would like to see a picture of harrow with sections on ii. The McFarland has a tow bar in it's ad but it's hard to see how all sections hook together and where the cables would go to make it pull correctly.
Thanks so far for the help. I have some more ideas from these.
