Need advice......I have to make up my mind by Monday at 10 or so.
Considerting a 42" reverse tiller by Land Pride --used---Model 25-42. Appears to be in decent shape but no tractor to test it out at location. owned by older gent who never used it but once and it is sitting there behind his business in the country. I also have option to buy a Hill plow...one bottom....at same time for 1,000 total. It is in great shape.---almost new.

I know Land Pride is a good company and this tiller seems to be ok....just rust here and there. perfect size for my tractor and sells for $850 alone. Is this a good deal.........and what chances are there that it could be a bad tiller??

Any thoughts?? thanks, don peak

Check the gear box and barrings and look at the tines to check for use, I know he said he only used it once but he could say anything. If every thing looks good and turns good it most likely is. I was going to buy a 60 in KK for $1200 but turned it down and got a new one for $1499 instead because the PTO was cut down and then had to cut down the new one. Look for abuse, saw one with a T post wrapped around it once.

If your tractor that you plan on powering it with has less than 15 PTO HP, you may not be satisfied with it. The reverse rotation tillers take a LOT of power to run.

Hey, you are right....I forgot that reverse tillers took more HP......and i only have 15hp on a 1500 Zen Noh (L175 K equal) I decided to buy
a new 42" Land Pride for 1,400 and have them install it with good warranty. Thanks! don peak

good decision Don Peak never rush on anything major decision or where the seller wants to rush you. I bought a used Kuhn tiller from a Gentelman who suggested that I bring my tractor up to his place and try it out on his ground. Worked out great and made a nice new friend to boot.
