Just measured the width of my tires are 4' I have a JD 1026 R 26 HP diesel.

Based on that I really would stop at the 5' size as you planned to do already. Personally I would pay $200 more for the heavier blade in light of case245 talking about the down side of a TSC blade. If you every wanted to pull/cut some side ditches by off setting you will learn the down side to cheap blades. If you are only going to be moving snow (not that much in much of MO) then light would be fine. You know your expected usage however and go with the blade that seems best for your needs. A nice Land Pride is not as likely to rip apart when worked hard. Sounds like that 1026 is an idea size to have for upkeep around the place.

A 5' blade is all that tractor will want. When you angle a blade to 45* espicially in the snow it will drag the tractor sideways, a 6' would be worse. Don't cheap out and get a TSC blade get something decent that will hold up. A Land Pride Rb1560 would be nice for your tractor. A Land Pride Rb1660 or a Wood RB60 would be really nice but they start to get expensive.

i had a 21hp compact in my preteen days i pulled a 5 foot blade never broke the blade if you are not using it alot it will hold up fine to a 26hp tractor you make me laugh that you need high grade 3pt attachments for a compact as much as a use the blade it doesnt pay to buy high $$$ attachments now if i would use say a cat 1 tiller behind my tractor then it would tear it up that blades cat 1 my links are cat 2

I use the TSC 5' rearblade for snow removal as it is light enough it does not scar up the asphalt. If you need to do ground engaging tasks with it you might be better off with the landpride or Frontier. The 5' rearblade is the correct size for a 1026R.

Another CT / TSC user here. I have an old 5 footer from Central Tractor that's on a Ford 1210 since around 1994 and although it is definitely a cheapie it still scrapes snow. Bought a 6 footer from TSC for the B7500 in 2002 and it was made heavier. Kept it for the L3200 and don't have a worry about using it on that tractor. We'll have to see how it works if we ever get real snow. It could be a switch to a wider blade may be better because at a 45degree angle it's none too wide.

I played in the dirt with both and neither is suitable. I have another dirt project coming in the spring and I'll either borrow the home-made "landplane" from work or watch for a used box blade. The guy who lent me his disc last summer told me there's a "Tuesday" or some such auction he sold it and other attachments and everything was going cheap.

Whats the difference between the Landpride RB1560 and the Landpride RB1660?

The 16 series tilts. I just happened to remember the 1 series is a limited cat 1 3PH. I don't know how high a 1 sereis lifts. The Land pride RB05 series may be a better match dependent on how high your tractor will lift. You probably should get some measurement of your 3PH all the way down and up before you buy a blade.

The cheap TSC blade works fine with the limited cat 1 hitch, atleast with my x749 mower. Lift it high enough without problems.
