2007 Kubota 3400HST
I have a Kubota L3400 4wd. Last year we planted a small garden and had lots of fun with it. The weeds are terrible where we live and became a huge problem. We tried to manage it by hand but simply did not have the time to work it to make it look good and produced like it should have. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice on setting up a garden for this year and all the ways my tractor can be utilized to make it easier. I have a disk, front end loader, box blade. I am wondering if an attachment or attachments can be used to set up my rows and then routinely clean them with the tractor. Space is not a problem and we would like to have a larger garden.

Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions and ideas you may have to help.

If you want the seed bed hills you can find or build a hiller. It may also be usable to weed at least some of the rows.

I use a three point cultivator;it has six tines, removed the center two and straddle plants. At least until they get too tall.

I added a hiller to my cultivator and remove when weeding.

Use straw for mulch. Put it on really heavy(so no light can reach the ground). That will conserve moisture in the ground and keep the weeds at bay. Care must be taken when doing this though, if one mulches too early, the ground won't warm properly.

And I also stole 'nybirdman's" idea. That implement resides at my BIL's place as he plants the potatoes and corn(I plant the rest of the stuff).

Just wondering if you realize your disk are on backwards, the concave side facees into dirt to form hill.

i use my tractor and 5` rototiller for getting the garden ready in the spring, then i plant my rows 2` on center and use my troybilt tiller in between the rows to keep the weeds to a minimum.
