Default john deere 3825 2 way plow

looking at buying a john deere 3825 2 way plow. Just curious as to how good it would work. I've never seen one in action before. Anyone know if they are any good?
    Thanks

Does it look like this? That's pretty much all that's used around here anymore. They work fine. I don't know how much power is required to pull those type bottoms though but I understand it's a bit more that a regular moldboard plow.

Can you set your tire spacing correctly for the plow.

The plow I pictured is in St Pauls. Is it the one you are looking at?

That looks like the same one but the one I'm looking at is near goderich Ontario. I have a 70hp kubota so that should be enough hp. Do you know what the furrow size is? Would it be 16"? What do you mean by spacing the wheels? does it not swing from one side to the other?

Yes the plow swings side to side to change directions. Your wheels need to be spaced properly so that when your tire is in the furrow, the front bottom is taking the proper cut. If your tires are too close together, the front bottom will run behind the tire in the previous furrow and not plow, if your wheels are too far apart, your front bottom will leave a strip of uncut dirt. An owners manual will tell you the proper tire spacing or you can use the trial and error method. It's really no big deal. I would guess that your tire settings are pretty close to right as they are.
I did a bit of research and it appears that the 3825 uses the same moldboards as the 975/995 plows and they are 16 or 18 inch adjustable plows. Your tractor should handle the plow fine but you may need to add some weight to the tractor. JD recommends 70 to 95 HP for their 3 bottom 975 which is just a newer version of the 3825. Wear parts are easy to get.
I wanted a plow like yours and was considering buying a two bottom version. Never happened. I couldn't find a used 2 bottom and a new one was too expensive. So now I have a 3 bottom Oliver rollover that I pull with my 5740.
I want to see your plow in action when you get it.
