10 kW PTO Generator

could someone care to comment in "layman's terms' on the pro's/con/s of Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR)

Not needed. Electronics with their switching power supplies are very tolerant to fluctuations of voltage and frequency. Just get a quality generator, don't overload it, and have a big enough tractor. You will have clean, stable power.

If it is made in Italy, I would trust the quality. Central Maine sells a lot of generators so I would also trust their ability to support their products.
Home Depot sells a meter called a kilowatt meter which monitors the voltage & frequency and electrical consumption of electrical devices. It plugs into a wall outlet for convenient monitoring.
Mounting the generator on a 3pt frame is necessary to stabilize it and it also makes it portable.
Don稚 forget to ground the generator frame to a good ground to eliminate the possibility of being electrocuted.
I have a 25kw Generac PTO generator, I mounted it on a 3pt cradle with a 100amp breaker panel that has the most common outlets so I can power most anything I encounter anywhere I can get my tractor.
And as mentioned I have a heavy welding cable & clamp so I can securely ground the unit to a ground rod or house wiring.

I have the 13KW Northstar gen from Northern Hyd mentioned by an earlier poster. I mounted it on a pressure washer cart and adapted the cart to the 3pt. Easy to wheel to the tractor. Then the tractor handles it. I have no trouble/vibration running mine held by the 3ph. ... Or just sitting behind the tractor attached only to the PTO -- wouldnt want to start it with a jerk in that mode tho. ... Quite convenient.

10,000 Watt PTO Generator
I'm wondering about disassembling the gearbox on this unit and remachining the input to a 1.0000" diameter to fit into this adapter:
USA Pump Adaptor 1" Round Bore
This in conjuntion with a bell housing type adapter would hopefully let the generator mount directly to the PTO housing on the tractor. My thinking is that the overall length might be short enough to allow leaving the generator mounted while leaving room for other 3PT attachments. Pipe dream?

Maybe, but I wouldnt want to leave that gen cantelevered out the back in general while driving the tractor around. Thats a lot of overhang and a lot of overhung weight. ... Maybe some bracing struts to the back end.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. Could probably include a welded support under the bell housing extending back under the gen body.
