10 kW PTO Generator

Don't know about that company, but price seems high if all you get is what is in the photo, You still have to make or buy a frame to set it on and a PTO shaft. By the time you get all the accessories, you can buy one with a gasoline motor and better power outlets.
I would look at Winco or other brands that come mounted on a 3 PH frame and with the PTO shafts. I have heard good reports on Winco generators. I think Howe tractor was selling the complete package at one time, not sure if they are still doing it though.

Has anybody had any experience with the 10 kW PTO generator from this company?

10,000 Watt PTO Generator

Thanks

Check Harber freight on line or if you have a store near you...they have a great deal on the whole PTO package...Gary is right ..you will need a frame / platform, PTO shaft and it does not look like that generator head comes with any AMP gauge that you can see from the Tractor seat so you know when you have reached the proper output. All those extras add up....compare before you buy..

Would be nice if this unit could be direct mounted to the tractor with a female coupler on the PTO. Looks like it has mounting holes on the gearbox for which a bell housing could be made for a direct mount. That would eliminate the long PTO shaft with it's inherent vibration and also the framework.

Another little item that a generator needs to perform right is a voltage and frequency meter. You have to turn the right speed to produce 60 kilocycles for your power to be clean in addition to the correct voltage. It doesn't look like any of these have these meters and without them you wont know if the 540 PTO speed is right or not.

Could a person check the frequency with a meter and note the engine rpm when gen output is 60 cycle/second? The tach on the tractor then becomes your readout for future sessions.
Maybe use an electric household type clock with a second hand to check the frequency with a stopwatch?

One thing I wouldn't like about this unit is it capable of 45 amps at 240 volts but only has a 30 amp recepticle. if running a house during a power outage this could be a problem. I bought one very similar about 10 years ago. Also made in Italy, Identical gear box. Mine didn't come with the outlet panel, just the wires sticking out. I had to build my own outlet panel and added a volt meter but it stopped working. Now I just use my hand held tester to set the rpm to give 240 volts.
