I bought a 7/8 inch bolt for the wore out 3/4 "slot" and bought a 1 1/8 inch bolt for the wore out 1 inch "slot".
I had a 7/8 inch drill bit and managed to drill out that hole with my cordless 18v Makita.
I bought a 1 1/8 inch drill bit for $51. I couldn't use it to drill out the "slot". So I got out a 1 inch diameter cylinder rotary file and with my high speed pneumatic router, carefully ground out the 1 inch slot into a 1 1/8 inch hole. So for now, I wasted $51 bucks. But may use that bit in the future. Who knows?
Anyway, the Cylinder mount is bolted in place with the aid of a 4 foot cheater pipe.
I then took the complete transport wheel assembly off, as it will go to the machine/welding shop to have a 1.5 inch long slot welded up or have a bushing installed to take it back to a 1 inch hole for the cylinder's aft mount. I had to hold it up by a chain with my loader bucket while we removed the 10 inch long one inch diameter bolts with that above mentioned 4 foot cheater pipe!
The 2 existing stub axles and hubs will have to be replaced. The Amco dealer in Nome, Texas wants over $350 per wheel for wheel, hub, bearings, and axle stub. I can buy a complete NEW trailer axle and hubs, with bearings for $190. That would need to be times 2. The axles will have to be cut down and welded to a 3/4 mounting plate.
So $380 or so plus welding new axle stubs to the mounting plates is way better than $1400. Add in $240 for new rims and I am still better off than buying new from the dealer. No wonder farmers are the McGuyver's of the tractor and implement world!
