Bought a used Befco T40-258 Found the owners manual online but I'm confused as to the type/ amount of oil to put in the chain case. Any Befco owners out there?

Well I have a Befco bush hog, but it doesn't have a chain case. I looked at the manual and I'd say you are supposed to lubricate the chain case with 2.2 lbs of general purpose grease. It's discussed in Section 4.02 in the manual.

Yeah, thats whats got me confused. The Befco website says the T-40 tillers have a "lateral #80 chain drive in oil bath"

I don't want to hijack your thread, but was wondering what your overall thoughts were on the Befco tiller? I am in the process of buying a tiller and was hoping to get your thoughts. Thank you.

Havn't really used it other than just trying it out, a couple of 50' passes. Seems to be a well built machine and my tractor has a 6' width so I'll probably make use of the side shift to cover my track
