Yeah, I did some digging around online since I'm stuck at work and it appears my loader isn't rated for what I thought it would be. Everything gives ratings for lift capacity at pivot pins. Not sure what that means but either way it's closer to 1400lbs so I'd still have to unload half the pallet by hand anyway. My parents picked up a 3pt hitch pallet fork loader that lifts to something like 6 or 8 ft. Maybe I'll look into something like that..

If you have the L100 loader, it's rating is...
1282 LB. Lift Capacity to Full Height at Pivot Pin
876 LB. Lift Capacity to Full Height @ 19.5 Inches
and the lift capacity of the 3pt is...
3-Point hitch Cat I with Position & Response Control
Lift Capacity @ Hitch Point: 2425 lbs
Tell your folks you don't need the 3pt. Having to split the load offers you more seat time. A win/win if you ask me. Lol!

For the pallet of pellets, here is how I handle a pallet of salt (~2400 lbs):
1. Have the pallet loaded into the truck at the source.
2. Bring an empty pallet on the tractor over to the bed of the truck/tail gate. (this keeps you on "level" and you don't really have to pick up the bags)
3. Unload 1/2 the pallet onto the 2nd pallet.
4. Go put 1/2 where it needs to go.
5. Come back and pull out the other 1/2.
Not the best, not the worst. Still certainly beats moving them all by hand!

This is kinda what I had in mind. I've always got the pallets from previous loads so that's not a problem.
