Well my dealer called me on Valentines day informing me that my Construction Attachments X-treme Duty Extended Tooth Bar was in. The Extended tooth bar fits on buckets with bolt on cutting edges. One of my earlier modifications was to adapt the Kubota 84" replaceable edge from the M59 Loader to my bucket this required drilling a bunch of holes through heat treated steel but that's another story.

They claim it weighs 150 lbs and after carrying it 40 feet from my truck into the barn my calibrated arms say its probably within 10% of that. I only had time to test fit it to verify it fit the bucket the teeth were between the bolts for the replaceable edge. I did not have a 3/4" drill bit in my arsenal so i picked one up tonight. Tomorrow i will attempt drill some holes and install it. Thanks to all the Tooth Bar owners who confirmed that they are worth it. I can't wait to try it out probably need the ground to thaw first My property is located on clay with rocks and boulders 2-4 feet in size.

Yep brand new $19 at home depot. If i dull it i can borrow my dads Drill Dr. Don't think it should be to bad since i will work my way up to 1/2" before the final 3/4" i dont think the side plates will be anywhere near as hard to drill as the cutting edge, i'm guessing this the sides are not heat treated like the cutting edge.

Congrats on the purchase. Be sure to do a review for us.
Thanks i will definitely post a review although a thorough one may take until spring. I searched the site via google and didn't see anyone else using the extended version. I'm not sure how many people actually put on a replaceable cutting edge.

The beauty of the toothbar is you probably don't have to wait until the ground thaws.

Well it took about an hour to install the bar. Half the time was spent using a propane torch and a scraper to remove the ice/snow that was frozen along the bucket. Its a perfect fit the 2 outer tines are welded at a slight angle to get around the end 2 bolts on the cutting edge. Here are a couple pictures of the installation. I'm excited to give it a try in the spring the ground is to solid right now i tried it on a frozen pile of clay dirt outside and it would barely scratch the surface. I'm not surprised as even when its not frozen it takes a pick axe to dig it.

Drilled a 3/16" pilot hold and then went to 3/4" as you suggested it worked fine the metal was fairly soft and its only about 3/16" - 1/4" plate

I'll be sure to follow up when i get to actually get to put it to work. I'm sure there will be some interested i should have put in the tittle "tooth bar for Bolt on cutting edge" I found several post that go back to 2000 with people looking for something like this. A couple people found a woods bar but nearest i can tell they no longer sell them. A few others modified New Holland tooth bars and one guy made his own. Most debated actually taking the replaceable edge off.
