convert spot sprayer to boomless braodcast? help?
I have a 15 gallon spot sprayer that I'd like to use for spraying permethrin for ticks. I've seen boomless sprayers for sale. Can I just put a fan spray nozzle on the hose and rig a bracket for it? Any suggestions on a nozzle if that would work?
thanks much!Kubota B2620, Ford 1210(sold), Satoh S650G(sold), folding entrenching tool.

Just use Google or Bing and search for "boomless sprayer nozzle" and read away. You need to match the gpm of your pump with the correct nozzles.
Here is a question for others...
Are spot sprayer pumps only meant for short duty cycles? If so that could possibly be a problem.Treat me good and I'll treat you better, treat me bad and I'll treat you worse.

I've searched google and TBN but I can't find specific suggestions on this exactly. I'm hoping to find a specific nozzle (hopefully from TSC!) that will work for this. I need to spray around the house and yard, not a bunch of acres.
duty cycle is a good question.Kubota B2620, Ford 1210(sold), Satoh S650G(sold), folding entrenching tool.

Re: convert spot sprayer to boomless braodcast? help?
I have used my 15 gal spot sprayer sitting on the back of my UTV while someone else was driving. I ran out all 15 gal almost non stop and there didn't seem to be any issues with the pump. I also would like to convert it to a boomless sprayer. I don't see why you can't rig your own boom just as you asked about. As DT86 said, match your nozzle output with the GPM of your pump. I think mine is only 1 GPM, not much to work with. I don't know how much you can go over that amount with the nozzles. You might be able to cheat some. Tractor Supply should have everything you need.
There is no $50 job I can't do without $100 worth of new tools.

Northern Tool has the kit with hardware and nozzle. So does TSC.

I bought a 15gal tank with spray nozzles in back and a boom for spot spraying from northern tool for my atv. What a disaster. The thing leaked water all the time and I was coated in chemicals. Luckily they honored my return.

The Northern kit looks good. The nozzle is available separately too. All the other 1 nozzle sprayers i see only have 7' pattern.
I looked at nozzles at TSC Agrisupply etc, but I'm not sure how to find the appropriate one out of dozens and dozens. Most of them say 80 degree pattern.Kubota B2620, Ford 1210(sold), Satoh S650G(sold), folding entrenching tool.

80 degree is fine but you probably have the 1 GPM pump . You need at least the 1.8 GPM ,Preferably the 2.2 GPM . You want a nozzle with bigger droplets so it does not drift and blow as bad .

yes I was wondering about pump volume. I have a 1.1 GPM, and the northern says that's okay. It has a large droplet 14' pattern, which sounds surprising.

Orschlien's has the flat fan spray boomless nozzel in brass for a 25' to 30' spray pattern, 22 dollars. and you can get a 4 or 5 gallon per minute pump for around 100 bucks, I like the roller pumps and I know they are best, But I like spraying from a pickup with the windows up, so you dont breath all that chemicals.
