Recently bought a rotary cutter that has been monopolizing way too much of my barn until this past weekend.
Coupled with a dolly, this is now a one man, 5-minute job.

How do you get it back down?

That is a chain hoist secured to the rafter and I've got it chained to a hook in the wall for safety reasons so it doesn't tip over but unhook that, hoist it up enough to slide a dolly under the rear end of it and then it just rolls out flat as you lower the hoist.

That's pretty neat!

I like this idea as I have too little space to store everything indoors. Problem is, my barn has a dirt floor so a dolly won't work.

It will if you use big enough wheels.

Not trying to tell you your business but I would be VERY CAREFULL with that setup.Local guy stored his the same way when getting his down it flipped somehow and crushed and killed him.coobie

I would have to agree with coobie.I know a guy who was lifting his and the hoist broke. Scared the **** out of him and his buddy. IMO its steel it wont hurt it to be outside if its in the road of your operations. They are all out in the big shed when there bought and sold mine included.
