I own a New Holland TC29DA compact tractor. I am looking to buy a mower attachment to hook up to the three point on the rear of the tractor. What is the going rate for this type of attachment and what issues are there with durability. I have some pretty rocky and rough patches.

Thanks

I ran a Land Pride 60" RFM for 14 years and replaced 1 belt and a couple of wheels...
It was a light duty model and performed flawlessly...
I now have a 6' Woods heavy duty RFM and it has performed flawlessly for over 6 years...
I mow approximately 3 to 4 acres once a week during mowing season which around here is mid March through mid November...
My yard is not rough but I do have areas that are rough that are old pasture and the such...
You are looking at a range of $1500 to $2000 for this type of mower...
If you go with a lesser known brand you might get out for $1200 or so...
My Woods cost $2000 6 years ago...
Dealer cost was $1850 at that time...

I went through the same thing and ended up buying a Howse. Didn't get a lot of feedback here but most were pleased. I've been very pleased. If I remember right it was just at 1000 lbs without chain, has a 3/16 deck with tubular reinforcing, 100 HP gear box and stump jumper delivered for abbot $1900. Somebody help but 3/16 is around 5 gauge and a lot of other hogs are 7- 10 gauge but going for more between $ s. good value to me so far. It's a 6 foot model. Good luck.

Is this going to be a rough use mower or a finishing mower application? I had a 60" Land Pride finishing mower behind my L2900 for 12 years and it performed flawlessly. I did add spun foam to the front tires of the mower. I also had a Fred Cain 60" rotary mower for heavier mowing. It also performed well.

Do you want a finish mower? $2k should be near the top of the line.

I 2nd the LandPride 60". A finish cut FDR2560 was left behind when we bought our property. I mow about 4 acres of rolling bumpy terrain per week during mow season. I put new blades and a belt on and though it looks to be 10 years old it still cuts evenly.
