Been lurking, but now have a question

Great site! I have been lurking for awhile, but decided to get my feet wet. Georgia boy, fix teeth for a living and recently bought 60ac for family fun (so I am a novice at working the land). Found a nice '10 McCormick CT50U with loader, new Landpride 72" bush hog and BushHog SBX72 box blade. Spent 3 hours with the scrape yesterday for the first time and it is amazing how mentally cleansing simply moving dirt can be - I am having so much fun!

I hope to receive some input on attachments that would help me with some projects. I have about 5 acres of debris that needs cleaned up (limbs, small roots, etc...) that used to be a burn area. After it is cleaned, I would to food plot the area as deer and turkey are always in the this area. I don't know what is in the soil other than compacted georgia clay. What would be the top options to safely work the soil? I know I need a rake to clean the area up first, but then do I go for a harrow, spring plow, ripper, etc... to safely work in unkown soil before seeding?

The debris is small, largest would be like 6" limbs and such. I rented a bobcat and moved all the large stuff, but the tracks on the skid steer ended up pushing small debris into the first 1-2 inches of soil; so my thoughts are a good rake to clean up the debris to clean soil. I just don't know enough about soil work to buy the right attachment for creating food plots. Thx Murph

I echo the recommendation for a grapple. I really use mine alot. You might also want to get a tooth fork and ratchet rake for your bucket for dirt work.

You're right, using the tractor is mentally cleansing. Congrats on getting the acreage for your little kids to enjoy growing up.

Still, take a look at the BXpanded Piranha toothbar, because, in addition to its use for raking and dragging, it makes your loader able to dig significantly more effectively. We have been amazed at the improvement in the ability to use our bucket in all of the qbove. It is even better at getting rocks out of the ground.
