Not real sure just guessing trying to help but I think it might be made by/for a Farmall.

Looks like a cultavator shank with a potato plow on it

Yes it does It is about 4 foot tall when you stand it up.

The cultivator shank could go on any number of machines or implements that use a square tool bar. It would take a large machine to pull that plow point at any depth. The plow point appears to be two welded together. Looks like a home brew implement. I doubt that the tool bar clamp could withstand the torque if that plow was pulled very deep or in heavy soil as in a middle buster/subsoiler. It may have been part of a multi-row potato or peanut harvester used to plow the potatoes or peanuts out of the ground.

Nothing is welded Every thing is bolted ! I bought this to have a middlebuster ! I think the way it was hooked to whatever it was hooked to was from the toolbar clamp then again up the shank toward the toplink ! The shank is forged and tapered . I would wonder what this beast would cost to build today ! I bought this to attach to my toolbar to make small drainage ditches ond for potatoes and the like ! Thank you very much for reply

Attached to a 2" square toolbar I'm sure it will do what you describe just fine. The plow point appears to have a seam in it so it looks like two welded together. It will be a tough pull for a 30 hp tractor trying to pull it at much more than potato hill depth but it should plow potatoes just fine.

Do you have a 2" square 3 point toolbar to attach it to?

Yes I have several tool bars ! I try to collectand use good old farm equipment ! And I agree It being hard to pull ! That is not my purpose for it ! Mainly to scratch shallow drainage ditches in the fields !This plow is completly forged bolted together and also has 2 big rivets about 3/4 inch diameter . I no dought date it to the 50s but it could be a good older ! I like to collect and use old farm equipment ! They represent a era when products were a major investment to the buyer and the products were built with no built-in obsolescence ! We for sure will not see such again ! I recon farming must be done differently in different places and by different people . Other than knocking down a row or scraping a shallow ditch I have no idea why anyone would bury a middlebuster to the hub and pull till maximum smoke !
