Default Servis Brand box blade thoughts

Just thought I would post these pictures and get the expert opinions from everyone on this box blade. Stumbled across it at a local dealer. It measures 67" wide. Appears to be quite heavy. I would guess 800-900 + lbs., but just a guess. Cannot seem to find any info on Servis on the internet. I would be buying this for my kubota L3800. From my understanding it is an automatic trip depending on the position of the top lock and will pull the rippers up when the three point hitch arm contacts the lever sticking out near the left hitch mount. Dealer was asking $875, but came down to $800 with some reluctance. Decided to sleep on it. A little less would be nice, but I do not think that will happen. Everything is in great shape considering the age. Just needs some paint and a new home. Any thoughts? Too heavy, too clunky, wait and buy something like a Dirt Dog roll-over? I definately do not think I could hurt this thing with my L3800. Thanks for any input.

I'am no X-PERT , but that box was probably made years ago in Dallas,Tex when Servis was there. Now they are Servis/Rhino. I have owned some of their attachments in past. Heavy duty, great quality IMO. That box is 5 1/2 ' make sure it covers your tire tracks. I'd put $650 cash in front of their faces and see if they will accept it , tell -em for $ 800 and then some you could buy new one some other place . Also if concerned about ability to handle weight, see if they will let you try it on trial basis. Thats one heck of a BB but someone would have to be really in love with it to pay $800 + tax for it. Heres pic of my Servis rear blade which I bought for $200 and flipped it to a guy with an antique tractor. My blade so you got an idea was made in 1958 (just like me). Just my thoughts.

    Hi bullbreaker,

Thanks for the reply. The box blade will cover my rear tires nicely (by a couple/ few inches on each side). I was sort of thinking along the same lines. I don't think he will come down any more than he did, but that is probably my sign to pass on it for know. It is not something I have to have at the moment.

    Thanks again,
    Russ

Thanks for the reply. Yep, that is what I think I will have to do. If it is still there in a month or two the price hopefully will come down.
