Hey everybody, I'm new here. I've got a Kubota L3750 4wheel drive tractor with a front end loader on it. I've got the opportunity to buy a Bush Hog brand backhoe, model 860 H. Would this backhoe go on this tractor? It is a 3 pt hitch mount, but it's on a Ford 4610 right now and I wasn't sure if it wasn't a little big for my Kubota. The backhoe has a 16" bucket on it right now.

Thanks!

My Bush Hog brochure lists the BH850, and the current 8.5-ft hoe is called
the 85CBH. I don't know of any "860" hoe from BH.

If it is like the BH850, I would be inclined to think you can mount it safely to your
L3750 with a good subframe. It calls for 6-8 GPM/2400psi hydraulics.

:welcome: to TBN! That hoe requires 5-7 gpm, 2,200 psi, weight less bucket 1,095 lbs direct from manual found on ebay right now.

I would probably get a frame mount from the dealer for it. Thats a lot of weight on the hitch, especially when digging.

Thanks guys! The Bush Hog 860 H is a three point hitch mount, and it has it's own hydraulic pump (PTO powered). I don't know exactly what year the backhoe is from, but it's on a Ford 4610 tractor right now, that is probably an '88 to '90 model, so the backhoe would be similar age. I don't know what the lady is asking yet, so that's the biggest unknown.

But if I have to have a sub-frame mount then this won't be practical for the Kubota as I need the 3 pt for several other implements... Any other ideas?

Thanks again.

The lady also has a Goossen Chipper/Shredder, PTO powered. Anyone ever use one of these; how powerful are they, how do they hold up, etc.?

David - The subframes made for Kubota tractors like the L3750, for mounting Kubota or Bradco backhoes, do not interfere with 3-point hitch implements. Even if you don't find one of those sub-frames (getting rare these days) the L3750 has a strong enough chassis to handle a 3-point backhoe if operated within reason. The L3750 is one of the older Kubotas with big bones - very rugged. It has a 2-speed pto as well which will do a nice job with the hydraulic pump on this bh.

I have been thinking of a small backhoe for my BX2230.Does anyone know of a hoe that would fit or will I have to get a bigger tractor? It would sure beat a bar and shovel:laughing:

Thanks rbargeron. So the subframe is just something bolted onto the tractor frame that you hook the backhoe to when you put it on the 3 pt hitch? Sorry for being dense, I'm new to these 3 pt backhoes.

The L3750 does indeed seem to be a rugged old beast. The hydraulic pump went out a few months ago, but with a new pump the old girl can pick up 2400 lbs on the front end loader with pallet forks!!

Where's a good place to hunt for a sub frame?

Check with the manufacturer of the bh, or if you're up for a welding project there's several threads on making subframes for backhoes. Other sources might be eBay.
