    Default Land Pride Quick Hitch

Anyone owning a land pride quick hitch. Can you tell me if your hitch came with one set of cat 1 to cat3 bushings. Thanks for your time.

I've had a Land Pride quick hitch for years. Very handy use for rear blade and snowblower. I think I just bought some adaptors when I got implantments

I just purchased a Land Pride QH15 quick hitch last fall and it did not come with bushings. Which, is just as well as most of Land Pride's bushings are the the plain tube style rather than the more common style with the large ends. I needed several sets and bought them on-line. They were around $15 a set.

Thanks, I was not sure if it came with a set. I bought 5 sets from Northern Tool at 13.00 a set.

According to the operators' manual, those with serial number 388293 or later are shipped with two spacer tube bushings, 1.44” O.D. x .91” I.D. x 1 9/32” lg. They have a variety of bushings available, including the 2- Stepped Bushings CAT. l to CAT. lll Adapter. You can download the manual from Land Pride's web site, and a parts manual.

Yes, that is true. But when I saw that Land Pride wanted close to $50 for a set of bushings my interest in their selection deminished somewhat. The whole bushing issue was very confusing, complicated by the fact that I had no prior experience with Quick Hitches. . When I ordered the QH15 from the dealer I asked if it came with any bushing because if it didnt, I was going to order a set (not knowing at the time the cost). The dealer said that no bushings were required and went on to say "Why would there be? It's a Cat-1 hitch and you are using Cat-1 implements". Ok. Still being confused I called Land Pride tech support when I got home and asked the same questions. They told me that bushings were not "required" but that I might want to use themanyway to tighten-up the fit a bit. They went on to say that without bushings the implement would rattle around. Ok, now I'm doubly confused. Needless to say when I finally received the QH15 it did NOT come with bushings and they WERE required. The good news is the short little tube-style bushings that it was "supposed" to come with are near useless for anything other than a clevis attach like used on a finish mower.

It seems okay. Build quality is on-par with the JD unit. Quite frankly I think it is over priced. I was initially very frustrated by the hairpin clips and pins that hold the top hook in place. Just mounting my rear blade would knock the hairpins off. I rotated them vertically but they didn't last more than 15-mins of operation until the bottom one fell out. I replaced them with bolts and has been fine - although now it takes wrenches to remove the top-link, which I currently need to do for my boom pole.

Someone on one of the forums recommended using the hairpins but pushing them on all the way past the detent. Another person mentioned carter rings. Once the weather warms up I will probably replace my bolts with something easier to change.
