Poll - box blade, rear blade, or land plane?

Which would you take to battle against this "road."

FYI not my road just a trail ( map said county road, I say trail) I had to venture down this weekend.

A boxblade or landplane will make that really smooth. I would go with the landplane

Unless you crown and ditch both sides or pitch and ditch it to one side...even with gravel storm water will leave you with much of what you have now down the road (no pun intended)...

A box blade will do a lot more than a plane will (different applications)

A road grader, but since that wasn't a option of choices, definitly a box blade with scarifiers and the ability to tilt the blade

It truly depends on what you had in mind when you said "Which would you take to battle against this "road."". Are you asking just to ask, or are you going to tackle this for some reason and want it to be smooth for now or want to fix it so that minimum maintenance has to take place in the future? For those or you that want to spend $$$$$ for materials, I am not even considering that in the equation.

If you want to just smooth it out so that it is smooth for now, a land plane grader blade (LPGB) hands down. I can smooth out that road with a LPGB in about half the time that it would take me to use a box blade and have the same results. Without seeing the entire road, I'm not sure that a box blade is even needed at all. If you want to fix the road so that this doesn't happen again, you are talking about reworking the whole road and a "GOOD HEAVY 1000lb+" rear blade would be the way to go to do this IMO. I have all 3 implements that you are asking about, and what I would do is to smooth out the whole road with my LPGB and then rework the road with my rear blade.

Just my :2cents: and I wouldn't spend much more without knowing more.
