Thanks for the 5 HP/ft reference. By that math, we should be fine.

There are so many variables that there is no way that any of us can give you a 100% this will work figure. Many people seem to be able to pull a lot bigger disk than I can with smaller less HP tractors. Are these guys stretching the truth some? Maybe, probably not. But without actually seeing what a person is working with, all we can do is guess and that guess is usually based on what each of us has had to work with in our own experience.

We have 3 old out dated pull disks, all with 22" pans. All JD-Kilfer units, a 6', 8' & 12'. The only way to lessen the bite is to change the angle. Once your stuck, it's to late to change the angle. Our ground is rolling terrain, I have a 5,000lb 32hp 4x4, a 12,000lb 75hp 4x4, a 10,000lb 40hp crawler and a 16,000lb 86hp crawler. There is only one of these machines that will pull all 3 of these disks in anything other than flat ground.

The sets that you are looking at are so cheap that it would be hard to go wrong. Buy one, pull it, if it seems like it will work, then fix it as need be. If not, sell or scrap it. There's only one sure way to find out.

    Good luck

. To do a proper job with tandem discs in our clay i need 150hp+ on 18ft and 300hp on 24ft .

The KBA is not a heavy disk. It is similar to the one in left pic.

The OP should note the above information and clarify the work and results intended for the 12 foot disk.

This has been my thought as well, and will most likely be what happens.
