    So, good news.
    I do have the extension coming from Agri Supply (thanks for the reference!), but I decided to go ahead and go to town with the Dremel and a file. Results were very good - PTO shaft fits like a glove and the chipper works nicely.
    The extension is not a waste, though - I have a quick hitch system that I am going to install, and it adds about 4 1/2 inches to the three-point hitch system - exactly what the extension adds.

    One look and you can see that the tractor is much nicer finished than the shaft on the chipper, but you took care of that. Also your camera takes very good close up pictures.
