Finally got the our new Belltec H-200 hydraulic auger with at 9" RAD (rock and dirt) auger bit set up for our tractor.

Uses the optional bracket attached to the loader bucket, and I added a couple of 20' hoses to connect to an open set of remotes on the rear.

Turns about 60 RPM and just chews through anything, especially the limestone rock we have in the TX hill country.

Video coming soon.

Some video....
In the digging clip, I had just remembered to hand my phone to my brother-in-law to shoot the video, and at that point we were about halfway digging through a layer of limestone rock for about half a foot. He was standing a couple of yards away shooting the video, and he could feel the auger grinding through the rock. Took about 5 minutes to complete the hole.

Just to answer a few questions PM'd to me:

- Cost: Ran right at $4,500 for the whole setup. About $2500 for the H-200, about $1100 for the 9" rock bit, and about another $1000 in the bucket bracket, hoses and quick-connect fittings.

- Tractor is 65 HP, and runs about 14 GPM on the hydraulics, and turns the bit about 50-60 RPM.

- Connected to a rear set of hydraulic remote ports, normally used for a "double-acting cylinder" like raising and lowering the road axle on a disc plow. Push the lever forward to turn auger clockwise, pull back to go counterclockwise, center stops the auger.

Man, that's one expensive bracket and set-up! Did you shop around at all?

The loader bucket bracket is $450, standard price from any Belltec dealer. Pricey, but it's nicely made, heavy duty with the multiple swivel points.

The kicker was the $500 for the hoses and quick connects. I paid through the nose for them, probably could have done it for half that somewhere else. But I just paid the piper for the convenience of picking it all up at the dealer.
