Anyone using the iMatch with the Deere ballast box? I called my two local dealers to check prices and the second one told me that the ballast box extension was required when using the iMatch. I've looked at the extension kit and can't figure out why it would be considered necessary. Ideas?

When I asked him about it he said "it just is".

Ballast Box - BW15073
Extension - BW15074

I thought the extension just makes it taller. Any chance he's confusing it with the bushing kit? That would be necessary for your iMatch.

You do NOT need the extension to work with your iMatch, or with your 3320-it's (the extension) only needed for the 4x20 series IMHO.

You will need bushings however as Dan mentioned. Here is the cheapest place I know to get them: QUICK HITCH ADAPTER KIT CAT 1-3

Thanks for responses! I'm thinking the dealer was possibly confused about which tractor I have or wasn't familiar with that part.

An update.

Went to dealer today and picked up the iMatch. Was somewhat disappointed when I was charged $35 additional for the new iMatch with adjustable top hook. When I asked about the price increase he said it must have been awhile since he quoted me the price since that was for the old model. It was seven days.

The good news is that I found the Deere ballast box on CL and saved $90.

Time to get to work!

You will like the iMatch. I had a Speeco and bent it. Bought a HF hitch and gave it away instead of installing it. Chinese junk. I found a used, almost new original style iMatch on CL for 300 and am very happy now. Take time to convert your old equipment. Only buy new equipment that is QH compatible.

It is worthwhile for safety.

After doing some reading here about the pros and (mainly) cons of the new version of iMatch, I decided simple is best for me. I went online and ordered the original iMatch (LVB25255) from AllGreenParts.com for $339.17 (shipped) and returned the one I bought from the dealer ($413.01) which saved me almost $75.

I searched Craigslist using SearchTempest.com and found a nearly new JD ballast box (BW15073) for $200 five hours from me but only 15 minutes from my dad. I managed to visit him and pickup the box at a nice savings.

Lastly, I went to the Deere dealer and bought iMatch bushings (LP19969) for $40.

After gathering everything together. I finally got it all together and setup. I temporarily added four sand bags for weight until I have time to mix some portland cement.

Thanks for everyone's help!
