Hi,

I'm looking to add a quick attach adapter to my Ford 7410 loader.

Palletforks.com looks to have the best prices by far, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with their adapters.

They have two options, one called an "assembly" and one called a "kit.

Here's the "assembly": Quick Tach Conversion Assembly | Acessories and other attachments | palletforks.com

Here's the "kit": Quick Tach Conversion kit | Acessories and other attachments | palletforks.com

Can anyone give me a good reason to spend more for the assembly?

I realize these will require some cutting and welding, but I have a friend who's an ace with that stuff.

Thanks!

I am going to follow this thread as I have tried to find out if it is universal and will fit most FELs.

It looks like the design of those assemblies would extend your bucket out quite a bit compared to some of the custom adapters i've seen in the past. It looks like the box frame is pretty bulky so try to find out the depth. It may not be an issue with a large utility tractor but I think it may be too much for a compact tractor.

One thing I've learned with a bit more research is that the assembly is not quite wide enough for my loader, although it seems as if I could pretty easily add a wider plate. It's only about an inch or two shy. Likewise, the mount plate they sell to weld to the bucket would have to be "split" to stretch it out wide enough for the spread of my loader arms. Maybe not a big deal. I'm going to keep researching and talk to my friend, who's really handy with these sort of things.

The price sure is compelling, and I hear good things about this company in general.

Please share what measurements your research found.
You do not want to cut the mount plate and stretch it, those plates are made to a standard for all skid steers. If the adapter is not wide enough you only want to move the rear plates to make it wider. the Skid Steer adapters (part with the lock pins) are set at the standard center to center measurement.

You're right... I wasn't thinking clearly and was thinking if I widened the plates for the adapters, the mechanisms themselves would be further apart. But of course they wouldn't.

So all I'd have to do is weld some plates onto the rear plate of the adapter to accommodate my lift arm span. Seems very doable, especially since the price on this adapter is about 50% of what I've found elsewhere.
