I just purchased a 10 foot rotary cutter made by International Machine. It is very heavy duty, very thick steel, and I got it with safety chains. I had to set it up myself, but thats ok. It actually runs smoother than my 6 foot cutter and does a nicer job. I can tell you though that a 60 hp tractor is not quite enough hp to pull it with on hills of any size. You can gear down to first or second, but to keep any kind of speed up, gonna need more horses. The stuff I was cutting I cut about a month ago, so it wasn't real tall, but was pretty thick. On the open pretty flat areas it gets along just fine. Can cut in high range first gear. I did get the pull type.
Question...the two arms that come from the back of the mower (where the wheels are) come forward and connect to the hitch hinge. There are three holes in the arms that come forward. One on top and two on the bottom. What difference does it make which hole you use?
Also, it says to use 90w gear lube in the gear boxes. I went to TSC and they have 90w-145w and 80w-90w oil. Which one should I use and does brand make a differnce? They sell Travelers. AND...it did not come with a jack as I have seen others that have them stored on the deck. Whats the best way to disconnect in a position that will be easy to connect for next use?
