Default W.R. Long single bolt on grapple for BX25?

Anyone have one of these for their BX? BOG

For some odd reason I seem to have a fascination with grapples, they just look extremely useful. No tractor, but would love a BX25, and also to have some sort of "semi-affordable" grapple function.

My question is first of all, how do you like it, and secondly, how hard/time consuming is it to remove for doing "FEL only" type work?

Also would the BXpanded pallet forks work with the single grapple in place (it doesn't look like it, but who knows)?

    Thanks for any input.

I don't and I am not sure if it would work good. You are adding a 143lbs to the bucket which will cut down on the lift capacity a fair amount. I don't think it would work good for cleaning up brush unless it was in a pile. It would be fine for moving a log or rock. Now with the BX having a quick attach maybe someone will make a small lightweight grapple for it. You can also get forks for the new qa.

There is a grapple and other tools here to fit the BX and other Subcompacts that may interest you: http://www.mytractortools.com/grapple.html

They make several different tools for subcompacts.

Thanks for the replies guys, neat link Don. I was thinking it might be nice to have the single grapple to pick up small brush piles, small limbs, etc., maybe 150-200 lbs max, with a lot of loads lighter than that. (for a small residential lot)

I kind of liked the idea of being able to keep the FEL on while having some grapple capability. It was priced at $1,450 installed, including the third function valve.

Obviously this is a very light weight capacity set-up, but that's all that I would require...and the price seemed right.

If you really want a grapple and to keep the bucket on.....this is a lighter weight solution than the WR Long setup: The Thumb .

There are several threads here on TBN about it. The owners seemed to like them from what I recall. The most common complaint was the visibility restriction from the bucket(IIRC).

I will add, that if/when I purchase a scut, I'll have the dealer install any add-ons, so I'm ready to roll. I've got an elbow that for the past year has been giving me fits, so the less I have to deal with the better.
