I have been searching for a cultipacker and found this Brillion 8 foot double roller. It's the best I have seen so far and the $450 price seems more than fair. There was grease on the fittings and all the rollers seemed ok. Is there any thing in particular I should look for and if something is bad/breaks would I have a reasonable chance of finding parts? Also what is the benefit/reason for two rollers? Thanks!

Dave,
The benefit of two rollers is doing twice the work in one pass. Should do a great job of breaking up clods. Yes, the $450 does seem like a great price. Hope it works great for you.

Good find and a good price.:D A lot of these old usable implements vanished when the scrap iron salvage craze hit in this area:thumbdown:

As far as parts go when needed, Sweets tractors might could help you out. Its old enough guessing by the 4-sided nuts and design some new stuffs from Brillion may be no longer available.

The nice thing about older implements like Brillion, they were built rather well and built to be "rebuild".

Thanks guys and I figure the scrap price would keep me from losing too bad. I looked at some of Sweets cultipackers and they were done up nice. Maybe I could "restore" this one! I pick it up Thursday.
