Bet you all thought this was just another toothbar thread. I just pulled the trigger on an Iowa Farm Equip. toothbar for my NHT1520. Can't wait. Thought you all would like to know.:D

We were dying to find out if you ordered one! Thanks, now I can sleep at night again. Phew. :p

I've had my Iowa Farms bar on for a month now. Love it. Only, I just did this to it:

I was pretty surprised. It let go with a **** of a bang when I was tugging on a stump. Hope they will warantee it for me. If not, oh well, it still works.

A good weld shop should be able to weld that tooth back together (but make sure they are capable of doing it right or it will break again.) Or get another tooth and weld it on next to the broken one.

You obviously reached the point of "over doing it" but you are lucky you broke the tooth (repairable) instead of bending the bucket.

Yeah, thanks Ken. My loader has a paltry lift capacity of some 900 lbs. I was really surprised it had enough power to do this. But that's another nice thing about having a tooth bar bolted on - it greatly stiffens the front bucket edge. It would be hard to bend it now. However, I did notice a couple symnettrical wrinkles in the top edge of the bucket the other day... need to take it easy on the ol' gal.

Yeah, thanks Ken. My loader has a paltry lift capacity of some 900 lbs. I was really surprised it had enough power to do this.

I'll bet you were using the tilt function to pry, which has higher force than the lift (I making an assumption for your loader).

My B21 has about the same lift capacity, I can't imagine breaking a tooth with it! But again, the pry function is probably higher. I just checked my manual for the B21. The lift capacity is 900# but the breakout force is 1546#, 2/3rds higher.

Still, that tooth should have been able to handle 1500#. I would contact your seller to see about having them fix it under warranty.

You'll love it! I've abused mine for a year now digging through rocks and it's held up well.

I got it. Very nice. Now dumb question before I try to drill a 3/4" hole in the bucket. Don't you try to put the bolt closest to the front of the bucket (in the slotted hole) to be able to flip it up when you don't want/need teeth? Do I remember this right? Thanks guys.
