Default Opinions about 5' bush hogs -- questions about Razorback and Kodiak

I'm in the market for a new 5' medium duty bush hog. In the past I've used a Razorback and loved it, and a King Kutter which I'm not so fond of. The King Kutter never fit the attachment on our MF 135 quite right and always rubbed the wheel no matter what. Are Razorbacks still being made? I see that Agri-Supply is selling Kodiaks -- anyone have experience with those?

Have I Kodiak MD60 right now, great machine. It's for sale if you're interested. New tractor means I'm upgrading to a MD72

I think the Razorback is called an RD5/6 now. I have a Razorback 160 and it works well for me, although I would consider it more of a light duty unit. It's designed to handle up to 1" material. I use it mainly for cutting high grass/weeds in pastures. The Squealer is more of a medium duty model.

Be sure to check the cutting capacity if your doing any heavy work with it.

I started looking last month for a 6 footer and got quite a school lesson on them...
I looked at every brand and model i could find. I found that most are only rated for a 1" capacity... found very few with 2" and a few with 3 ".

I looked at a new Bush hog BD6 IIRC for $1100 OTD ... was a good price but when I looked at it found out it didnt even have a stump jumper... I assumed all new rotary cutters came with stump jumpers

After a lot of looking I finally found a used Landpride RCR 2660 ...RCR2660 & RCR2672 Series Rotary Cutters | Land Pride.. its a 5 and not the 6 ft cut I wanted, but its rated for 3 inch cutting capacity , deck is way thicker than any of the others ... its a 90hp gearbox instead of the 40 hp that were on almost all of the other 5 and 6 foot cutters .
I probably could have gotten by with one of the lighter made cutters but this HD one was right at the cost of a new lighter made one and should last me forever.

I found new 5 and 6 footers anywhere from $700 Jbars (way light built) on ebay -- up to almost $3k for a HD unit ...... But most were in the 1200-1600 range.

I've got a 5' Kodiak cutter that I bought from Agri-supply a few years back. For $575 it has been an excellent mower. I mostly use it for pastures, grass and weeds, but occasionally some brush up to 2". After 5yrs and a few hundred acres all it's needed it a couple shear bolts, greasing and occasional sharpening.

I was kind of wondering about this also. I had a 5' King Kutter on a MF135 and didn't have problems with it rubbing the wheel.
