Hi all,
Any help appreciated
The gearbox/support plate/drive pulley assembly must come off the deck as a unit after the belt is removed from the drive pulley. The assembly will weigh somewhere between 80 and 100 lbs, I'd estimate. Then the pulley must be removed to access the seal and stake nut. Several dealers have online parts diagrams; a search will easily bring one up.
Other posts referring to blade removal are incorrect; no blades have to be removed.
Opp's - Rick is right - finish mower not hog. Same general idea but in a way even easier. Good catch Rick

RickB is bang on. Only other thing to be sure of is to use some emory clot or sand paper to get the rust off the shaft and oil or grease the new seal before you slide it onto the shaft.
