As a lot of tbn'rs know growing, building and operating a business that involves a c.u.t is not always a fast, quick rewarding deal, even when times are good. In many cases owner/operators like myself just try and get by with what they have or loan, beg for and barrow different implements and other items till they have the means to do said task them selves.

One of 'those' implements for me was a set of forks. I built a pair of JDQT stile forks for my 790 for countless tasks around the tree farm and the home. The forks consisted of scrap pieces from an old baler, old car rear end axles and bent up harrow hangers. The set up was light duty buy my standards, but they served me well and have the use and strain marks and permanent bends to show for all the hard work I demanded from them.

Well, yesterday I was finally able to order a pair of brand new JD stile pallet forks from one of the advertisers here on TBN, palletforks.com.:cool2: The choice was easy after reading the reviews and visiting there web page. I seriously doubt one could find better online prices and products.

Where did you find the reviews? I've been to the Palletforks.com site and didn't see any. I'm looking for a set of forks myself.

Spruce Deere -

Be sure to let us know how you like the forks. I looked at their web site, and they look to be about the best deal going. While helping my son clear his house lot a couple of weeks ago, I had a chance to try some forks on his friend's tractor for stacking tree-length oak logs (to be processed into firewood). There is definitely a few skills to be learned. The owner of the tractor was quite adept with them. That further convinced me that I want a set of forks for myself. I have some rotting logs from old blow-down trees, and some junk softwood that I want to clean up. I plan to skid them to an out-of-sight area on my wooded lot, and stack them into a "rot-in-peace" pile.

You bet dennisfolsom:thumbsup:

Checked my tracking number and I should be able to pick them up tomorrow after work. I found them to be the best deal hands down, for new forks with a little time to burn and the internet.

Loading B & B trees and firewood procurement, that's the two main chores I do with my current seen FAR better day forks.

With the firewood, the forks usually see use in the loading and unloading of logs from the trailer.

Here is a pic after I skidded some dead douglas fir trees, bucking them to 6 ft long and loaded on my trailer with the 790 and my home built forks.....
