I am looking to buy a quick hitch for my compact tractor. What is a good price for one in the (Florence) South Carilona area? Thanks -- Jesse

The Tractor supply co sells them at $180.

John Deere makes one called the iMatch. I got a quote of $170 on one of those. Landpride also makes one that looks pretty nice. I'm sure there are others, too.

You might want to use the 'Search' feature here and look for something about "quick hitch" or "quick attach" and read through those threads. I know there have been quite a few discussions about them.

One cautionary note here. I just bought a quick attach hitch and have found that only about half of my attachments stand a chance of working with it without 'cut and weld' modifications to the implement. That half that "work" still includes some that have no margin for error when hooking up. By that I mean the lower hooks on the quick hitch just barely fit in the inner or outer collars of the pins. Obviously, in an ideal world, those hooks should be in the absolute dead center of the pins on either side to allow a little more tolerance when backing the tractor up to the attachment.

Deere does guarantee their iMatch to work with all Deere and Frontier (another Deere brand) of implements. I would assume that Landpride's hitch works with all of their implements as well.

The bottom line is that until all of the implement makers adhere strictly to a Category 1 standard, this will continue to be a problem. Ironically, there are some implement makers who don't even seem to have a standard from one of their implements to the next. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have the TSC Speeco hitch and wish I bought the Imatch.

These things are great. Should be standard equipment.

Is there really any dramatic difference between them? I'd think so long as the implements aren't standardized the quick hitch wouldn't matter a whole lot.

It seen that the only advantage to the iMatch would be the guarantee that all Deere/Frontier implements will be compatible with it. Am I missing something here?

No you're not missing anything Gary. They are all the same for the most part. If you standardize all of your equipment or only buy equipment that will fit your quik hitch they are great. If you have mult. pieces of equipment they are a pain as you either have to standardize all of your equipment or take the quik hitch off and on depending on the equipment you are using.

That's rue what I thought. I'm confused by JR's comment about wishing he had the iMatch instead of the Speeco. JR?

Almost bought one at TSC today. I have Woods Box blade and rear blade, KK Carry All and a KK 6' finish mower. I didn't buy one since I wasn't sure if everything would work with it.

Do you have to move the top hook up/down for different equip?
Or is it just the lower pins fitting that you have to worry about?

I have a TSC (Speeco) quick hitch and it will NOT work with
my KK finish mower. The pins are too far apart to fit into
the hooks.
