This thing is built like a Sherman tank! Everything seems to work as it should. Besides a new steel rod for the handle and a 1" 1/4 pin that holds the scarifir bar to the box (and paint) its a perfect unmolested piece of art.
Once I buy scarifirs it won't be quick hitch compatible. The hitch frame is in the way of the handle to release the scarifirs.
I'm not sure how the scarifirs get held in place. I know a rod runs parallel to the box, but there is only one slot for each side to hold it in place. If anybody has info I'd appreciate it. The online pictures are not very clear. Nor do they show the 1 1/4" special pin I'll need for the right side (for the rollover part). Some other posters believe it to be an sr25 model. From the online brochures it doesn't distinguish between a sr20, sr25, sr30. It's 60". Here are a couple pics of it widening a boat ramp and installing utility poles for the sides.

I will get you a pic of the rods that I made to hold the scarifers in place, I also had a hard time telling what they looked like from the parts guide. The ones that I made work very well. The difference between a sr20 and sr25 is the width, the sr25 is like 6' 6"" wide, the difference between the sr25 and the sr35 is plate thickness, the pins are not clear either and the price is not correct, the one you need is a greasable pin, it makes it easier to roll.

Good for ya.

Based on my happy experience pulling a 630 pound 'Bush Hog' Rollover Box Blade behind my 1,900 pound Kubota B3300SU, I will be interested in reading how that heavier Gannon pulls behind your 3,000 pound Kioti CK35, and whether or not you actually need the scarifiers.

How much did you pay? I won't tell anyone else.

John, thank you for the information!! So, do I have a sr20 or sr30? It's 6' wide. I did see the greaseable pin on the other side. I can't wait to see the pictures you have.
Jeff, me too. I think it's a tad to big for my tractor (thanks mntview), especially without loaded tires. But, from what everyone says. Weight is the most important thing with a box blade. I'm not sure if I will need the scarifiers, but I would like to have them just in case ( when I figure out which ones I need and where to get them). I paided $350 ( his asking price), the cutting blades are in very good shape as is the slots for the scarifiers. When I first talked to the seller, I asked what his bottom solar was? He said he could only move a little bit ( or he would keep it). I just felt better giving him his asking price ( on this deal).

Thirty CENTS per pound. Great buy. When I bought my fairly priced new-old-stock BH Rollover Box Blade I paid about $1.20 per pound including freight.

I was looking at info on the gill boxes and with the 5' length I think you have SR58 just a shorter version of SR25
I think you can make retainers shorter with no problem, maybe 3/4 of inch or so. Mine work well, they tend to ride up a little that is why if I did it again they would be shorter.

After re reading my posts, now I'm confused on my lenght. I'm almost positive it's 6' wide ( ill have to measure (again! ) when I get back to my property.
John, what holds the rod in place (I see the hitch pin for the inside)? Are those wedges that are welded to the rod to hold the scarifiers in place. It seems like the rod would walk out of the slots, especially towards the outside

They are flat 1/2" stock attached to 1/4" smooth rod with hitch pin on one end and other side the flat stock has a " hook" that goes I first and then drops down in place behind scarifiers. The hook secures it From pulling out on one end and the hitch pin on other. The scarifiers on a Woods HB 72 use the hitch pin system. Woods and Gill are same company anymore.

John, one more ?. Can you give me the dimensions one scarifiers? The PDF file doesn't show it. I may be able to find them cheaper on eBay than at a woods dealer.
