What is it worth?

What is a 40 yr old "bush hog brand" rotary cutter, 5' wide, worth? The push lock on the yoke that slides onto the PTO needs replacing and the flat bar "slides" are worn off the front edge, other than that and it needs painting, it is tight, not rusted out, smooth operating gearbox, pretty good shape.

I told the guy it was bought new in 1973 so he knew it's age. Sold it for 475.00.

I think we both did pretty good on this deal. What do you guys think?

I wish all sellers were like you! I never mind paying a fair price when it's fair for both parties (although i love a good deal) but sometimes people think they're stuff is like gold! I've seen this a lot with old Bush Hogs like yours, where people ask over a grand for something worth half that.

I think you made a very fair deal on both ends.

Same here. I think you did a fair deal for both of you. I would have taken that deal and been happy. I have to replace the gearbox on mine and you are asking barely more than the gearbox will cost me. No one got hurt in the deal. Kuddos for the fair play.
