Since I now know ( with the help of you guys ) that I need a 1 3/8 smooth slip clutch for my KK brush hog; Where is the best place to get/order one? Are there different qualities? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I have been told that there is a spray lubricant to apply to a slip clutch to help it from seasing up. My dealer didnt know of such a product. I have had my slip clutch not slip once (and it stalled the tractor) and wanted to try to prevent this from happening again. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Perhaps you will have to adjust the spring settings to allow the clutch to slip.
Also; if you are running borderline horsepower, it may be difficult to adjust the clutch so that it will slip when required but hold under normal working conditions.
if the material on clutch is organic if you spray anything in it it will slip if it's metalic when it slips the oil/grease will most likely burn off. If organic it'll soak in and cause trouble..
With the plate off or seeing the edge if it has speckles of something looks like shiny spots it's metalic like diamonds..
Your suppose to loosen nuts and let the clutch slip to keep it from ceasing up on you..
then tighten it back..
