Good to hear from someone familiar with this mixer. It's a bit alarming when you say "dump the mixer quickly with very little movement of the lift arms". Can you explain that a bit more? Is the unit gear driven? I know that some of the mixers use chain drive.

Unit is chain driven, at least ours is and they look identical for the most part.. The linkage is set up to empty the mixer whilst it is still fairly high up, you could then empty it into say a wheel barrow or similar.. learning curve is easy with this one... You could also just remove the linkage and use a power top link for even greater control, its easily done... Buy it

Planning to go check out the mixer tomorrow. I won't mind owning it even if not used that often. The nice thing about buying used machinery is that it holds it's value and may even increase as a hedge against inflation. No sales tax and no property tax are a big plus in my book. Besides that, big boys need toys too!
Thanks for everyone's input and hope to do a followup report with photos.

Edit: Should say, "old farm boys need toys"

I'm not familiar with that model but I think my 3pt mixer is one of the best pieces of equipment I own. No more mixing in the tractor bucket or pushing a wheelbarrow over ruts for me, mix-drive-dump. Mine has a huge drum that I can handle about (10) 80lb bags. My buddy and I easily poured 5000 pounds of cement in 1-1/2hrs. Mine has a car tire that spins the drum and It's dumped with the position control. It picks the entire drum in the air and will turn it completely upside down. When you set it back to home position, the drum starts spinning again. It was a CL find,$350. It needed some TLC but it works great now.

It sounds like you walked up on a very good deal. What brand is it?
