Fimco 150 Gallon 3PT Sprayer

I'm looking at the 150 Gallon Fimco 3-point sprayer for spraying 60-70 acres of soybeans and small grains with my 3720. It has a 28' boom which I would probably extend another 10' or so. Best price I have found so far is here, and yes I will still need to buy a pump.

Is anyone using one of these or something similar, and what are your opinions? What competitive products should I be looking at in this price range? Thanks

I'm picking up a Schaben sprayer on Tuesday. I compared sprayers against Orschelins/Tractor Supply and Agri Supply and the Schaben had a better pump and the boom that I wanted for less. I was going to pick it up from the factory but a local JD dealer sells them for the same price. I can't comment on it's performance but you should check them out and compare. Thanks for the reply. I found them a few hours after I posted and am leaning that way right now. I sent in a quote request for a 110 gallon unit with 35' booms. They seem to be put together better than most of the others and at a good price from what Gemplers lists them for.

110 gal seams to small, for a 35'boom? I would think , you would have to refill often?

I have a 3 pt 110 gallon sprayer with the boomless nozzle. Good and bad ... first, most applications will cover 10 acres per tank.... need a nurse tank or be close to home if doing any amount of acreage ... The boomless nozzle is great because you don't have to unfold the booms worry about hitting fences or the like ... the boomless nozzle is not as fine a spray as the booms however it does do a very good job and drift is considerably less. I also can mount it to my planter and with the manifold system apply liquid 42-0-0 as a side dress ... I also made a front hitch for the JD and routed the hoses from the PTO to the front and then back to the cultivator to apply liguid again when I cutlivate.

For the larger fields our local coop has a spray rig that they provide ... nice unit .. just heavy and this year you can stick it in the wet ground !!

It's smaller than I'd like, but then again so is my tractor for this purpose. Running at 6-8 mph 1700+ pounds of water, sprayer, and chemical in a 150 gallon could bounce me around pretty good. As others have posted, the 110 gallon tank will get me through about 10 acres. A few extra fills is a lot cheaper than buying more tractor at this point. I am also considering mounting another tank to the front of the tractor for 200+ gallon capacity. I will have a water truck right at the field, so travel for refills will be minimal.
